SIMPLE MECHANISM 

Kinematics link Or Element:- Energy part of a machine which is having some relative motion with respect to other part is known as kinematics link Or element. 

NOTE:- It is very necessary for a link to be a resistant body. A resistant body is capable of transmitting power from one element to other.
 
A link may consist of one or more resistant bodies. 

Types of Link

1. Rigid Link:- link in which deformation is negligible is known as rigid link. 

Example:- Crank, Connecting Rod, Piston etc. 

2. Flexible Link:- The link in which deformation is observed but under permissible limit is known as flexible link. 

Example:- Rope drive, Chain drive, Belt drive. 

3. Fluid Link:- The link transmitting power with the help of fluid is known as fluid link.
 
Example:- Hydraulic press, Hydraulic brake, Hydraulic coupling etc.
